Crafty Crazies

Sunday my first 6 day craft market came to an end. What an experience. The market was well organised. Never did I imagine I would meet such wonderful people. The crafters around me became like a family. As any market goes, there are quiet times and busy times. The quiet times brought lots of jokes and laughter under the stall holders. Working 9am-7pm for six days was tiring, but worth every minute. New friendships were made and new clients gained. Bring on the next market:)

Craft Market Motivation

Nothing to motivate you to get the job done than a looming 5 day craft fair.
I have been procrastinating a bit, or a lot actually. The pressure is on to get new kits designed and packed in the next 10 days. I've got my happy face on and the family have gone mad, but we will be ready. Most of the designing is done , now just the production line to be arranged. Which means boxes, material and who knows what, in my work space, also known as the "Garage". Yipp i've been posted to the dark and dingy. LOL...
Find us at the CY Market 23-28 Oct, with new card kits, sewing and knitting kits. Even a few craft bags to keep your crafty goodies in. I will post pics when i can get my camera to stop being tempremental.

My happy face
The family gone mad
The view before the chaos ensues
Well, hopefully we will all still be sane and have lots of new kits to get your craft on. Hope to see you there.

All Things African

Hi everyone.

Our Miss Mollie sewing kit is photographed with a little bed. Everyone loved the bed so much we decided to have some made to sell . Seen as our products are made in "Africa" we thought our bed should keep with the African feel. So here are our newly arrived Miss Mollie beds. They have been made by  Richard   "The Wire Guy" as we call him.
Order now and we will include a pillow and pretty bed frill.

Our First Craft Market

A couple of weeks ago i did my first Market (The Ideas Trunk show) as new owner of Peg & Thread. I had a 2x2m space, and it being quite a drive from where i live, i packed everything, but the kitchen sink to make sure my stall would measure up. My niece was going to help, but unfortunately could not make it, so i was on my own. This was a bit dawnting. Set up went well and the two days of trading brought lots of friendly faces and positive feedback. I met some wonderful people (traders). It really is a community of crafters, all willing to help and support each other, well almost all....

By the time of this photo, exhaustion started setting in from the hectic 3 days

Happy Crafting to all

The Mommy City

Two weeks ago i had the previlige to share my new business venture with Sarah from the Mommy City Blog. We ran a give away on her blog, which i found very rewarding and beneficial to my business. My Facebook page has grown from 390 likes to 575 in the last 3 months. I realize how important it is to network with like minded bloggers and business owners to give yourself and your business better visibility. As i do not have the extroverted personality, this is the challenging part of the business for me. I'm sure as i go along this will get easier, but luckly there are wonderful people like Sarah who are willing to support us, small business owners. So to all of you who lay awake at night, thinking about starting your own business. If i can do it so can you.
